A beautiful, impeccably trained, and certified Psychiatric Service Dog was taken away from the owner when he was involuntarily hospitalized on 5150 due to mental health crisis without access to phone or email. Berkeley Animal Control maintains that they did everything right by dialing the owner's dead phone once a day for 5 days at which point it claims it becomes a property of city of Berkeley and refuses to cooperate reuniting the service dog with the owner.
